Plagiarism Policy

SINAPSIS: Jurnal Sinergi Analisis dan Publikasi Sains Ilmu Kesehatan maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and redundant publication. Protecting the integrity of the scholarly record is our primary responsibility.

To ensure high ethical standards, all manuscripts submitted to SINAPSIS are systematically screened for similarity using Turnitin before entering the peer-review process.

Types of Plagiarism Audited

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from another source without quotation marks or proper attribution.
  • Mosaic / Patchwork Plagiarism: Interweaving text from various sources without proper citations, changing only a few placeholder words.
  • Self-Plagiarism (Text Recycling): Reusing significant portions of the author’s own previously published work without proper disclosure or cross-referencing.
  • Data Fabrication and Falsification: Inventing, altering, or manipulating research data, clinical statistics, or laboratory images.

Policy on Violations and Sanctions

If a manuscript is found to exceed the 25% threshold during the initial screening, it will be returned to the authors for comprehensive revision (if the index is 25%-35%) or Desk Rejected immediately (if the index exceeds 35%). If severe plagiarism is uncovered after publication, SINAPSIS will strictly follow COPE guidelines to issue a formal Article Retraction and notify the author's home institution.
