1. Initial Editorial Desk Review

Upon submission, the Editorial Board performs an initial screening. The manuscript is evaluated for:

• Scope Fit: Alignment with the journal’s focus and scope.
• Formatting: Compliance with the Author Guidelines and article template.
• Plagiarism Screening: Screened using Turnitin (Maximum similarity index must not exceed 20%).

*Manuscripts that fail this stage will be Desk Rejected or returned for immediate correction.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers. SINAPSIS operates a Double-Blind Peer Review model:

• The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers.
• The identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors.
• Reviewers are selected based on strict expertise without any conflicts of interest.

3. Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its scientific merit, focusing on:

• Originality, novelty, and significance of the work.
• Theoretical soundness and methodological rigor.
• Ethical compliance (human/animal subjects approvals, informed consent).
• Relevance and up-to-dateness of the references.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewer reports, the Editorial Board makes one of the following decisions:

• Accept Submission: Accepted without any changes.
• Revisions Required: Minor clarity or formatting fixes needed.
• Resubmit for Review: Major revisions needed; requires a second round of peer review.
• Decline Submission: Rejected due to major scientific flaws or lack of novelty.
