Publication Ethics

SINAPSIS: Jurnal Sinergi Analisis dan Publikasi Sains Ilmu Kesehatan is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in the publication process. Our publication ethics and malpractice statement is based on the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the national accreditation standards of SINTA.

It is necessary for all parties involved in the publishing process—Authors, Editors, Peer Reviewers, and the Publisher (Sinergi Press)—to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior.
1. Duties of Authors
  • Reporting Standards: Authors must present an accurate account of the original research performed and an objective discussion of its significance.
  • Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must ensure they have written entirely original works. Proper citations must be used for any external sources.
  • Ethical Approval (Health Sciences): For research involving human subjects, authors must provide a statement confirming institutional ethics committee approval and that informed consent was obtained. Animal research must adhere to recognized ethical guidelines.
  • Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  • Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant scientific contribution to the study.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts: All authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest.
2. Duties of the Editorial Board
  • Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles should be published, based strictly on academic merit without regard to the author's background.
  • Confidentiality: The Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without written consent.
3. Duties of Peer Reviewers
  • Contribution & Promptness: Peer review assists in editorial decisions. Reviewers who feel unqualified or cannot complete the review promptly should notify the editor immediately.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
  • Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and report any substantial similarity to other published papers.
4. Duties of the Publisher
  • Handling Misconduct: In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the Publisher (Sinergi Press) will take all appropriate measures, including publishing an erratum or retracting the affected work.
  • Access & Preservation: The publisher is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research through digital archiving systems.
